Everything the first reporting cycle taught us

  • Why this year matters

The first full reporting cycles under ISSB-aligned standards close in 2027, and with them the first wave of limited assurance engagements over disclosures no audit manual was written for. ICAFS 2027 puts the evidence — empirical, archival, experimental and practitioner — on one programme.

  • Who should attend

Accounting and finance faculty, doctoral candidates, audit and assurance partners, financial controllers, sustainability reporting leads, regulators, standard setters and institutional investors. Roughly a third of delegates come from practice, and sessions are chaired to keep both languages in the room.

  • What you leave with

Written reviewer feedback on every accepted paper, a route to special issues with three partner journals, CPD hours recognised by the major professional bodies, and a delegate list that is published in advance so meetings can be arranged before anyone lands.

For a century we audited what a company owned. We are now asked to audit what it emits, and the profession has one reporting cycle to get the method right.
